A century of character, a new chapter on the shores of Torch Lake.

A Storied Estate

Nestled along the sparkling shores of Torch Lake, Torchwood Estate is a one-of-a-kind retreat where old-world charm meets modern luxury. Rich in Craftsman character, collected antiques & unexpected details, this extraordinary lakeside home feels both grand and wonderfully intimate. Every room tells a story, inviting you to settle in, explore & discover something new to fall in love with.

With roots dating back more than a century, Torchwood's story is as remarkable as the home itself. Originally perched farther up the property, the historic structure was moved closer to the water and thoughtfully expanded into the magnificent 10,000-square-foot estate it is today. Its original character remains beautifully woven throughout, blending the craftsmanship of another era with the comforts of modern lakeside living.

Step inside the Great Room, where a soaring stone fireplace sets the stage for evenings spent together. Play a favorite melody on the 1920s Steinway grand piano, or pour a cocktail at the antique MexWhat couican cantina bar, a piece of history all its own. Wander into the dining room to admire the distinctive Pewabic tile surrounding the hearth, retreat to the cozy Southwest-inspired sitting room, or settle into the science fiction-themed theater for a movie night worth staying in for. From beautiful wallpapers and antique furnishings to carefully chosen fixtures and architectural details, each space reveals its own personality, with a little charm and surprise around every corner.

Outside, the beauty of Northern Michigan takes center stage. Ease into the morning with coffee overlooking the turquoise waters of Torch Lake, spend sun-filled afternoons along the private sandy beach, or gather on the expansive decks as the day gives way to evening. When the air turns cool, retreat to the covered porch, where a crackling wood-burning fireplace and sweeping lake views make lingering a little longer feel irresistible.

Designed for cherished gatherings, multigenerational vacations & peaceful moments all your own, Torchwood Estate offers the rare luxury of having room to come together and space to slip away. Here, history and character live comfortably alongside thoughtful indulgences, creating a place where the days unfold naturally, the simplest moments feel special & memories linger long after summer ends.
